Tell us a little about yourself:

I am originally from Michigan and did a Bachelor’s in Psychology at Michigan Tech before moving to Hamburg. I then completed a Master’s in Integrative Neuroscience here in Magdeburg where I happily stayed for my PhD. I am new to programming but it’s my favourite part of the work. At home I love to play video games and make neuron art (you can view and buy my neuron art from Displate [2] and Redbubble [3]).

Tell us a fun fact about yourself:

I have enjoyed several fun jobs but one of my favourites: I was a tour guide one summer in the copper mine, Adventure Mine [4]. This job included rappelling further down the mine shaft.

Why did you choose to work in dementia?

I don’t currently work with dementia directly but I wouldn’t rule out going that way in the future. As a basic researcher, I’m happy to know that my research exists in what will hopefully become the foundation of further understanding dementia.
