Tell us a little about yourself:

I didn’t start out as a scientist, after i graduated I worked in science TV for a few years but became envious of the work I was researching that scientists were doing. I joined the dementia research group at UCL in 2001 as a research assistant and have been there ever since. I completed my PhD part-time on imaging in Alzheimer’s. I have published more than 100 papers and I have successfully managed to win a number of grants including fellowships. Since returning from my first maternity leave in 2014 I have worked part-time (0.8 WTE). I now have two children and I am married to a Vet.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself:

I was pole-vault champion at university – there was only one other competitor.
