Present Your Discoveries

Spotlight your research with an oral or poster presentation at AAIC Neuroscience Next. Early career neuroscience researchers who submit an abstract have the opportunity to present research to leaders and peers in the field. Abstracts spanning the breadth of neuroscience research are eligible for submission (not solely those related to Alzheimer’s and dementia research).

Areas of interest include:

  • Molecular and cell biology.
  • Development of new models and analysis methods.
  • Genetics.
  • Human neuropathology.
  • Drug development.
  • Markers and manifestations.
  • General neuroscience.

Awards

The Alzheimer’s Association is proud to celebrate the individuals who have made significant contributions to dementia science through two awards at AAIC Neuroscience Next. These awards recognize the work of mentors in neuroscience, as well as those who are just beginning their career in this vital field. Award nominations will open in early February 2023.

The Alzheimer’s Association Excellence in Neuroscience Mentoring Award honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the mentoring of dementia scientists, through either research mentorship (where the mentor shares technical knowledge and skills), career mentorship (where a mentor shares insights on career navigation and provides advancement opportunities), or personal mentorship (where a mentor guides their mentees to build confidence, persist through obstacles and achieve personal goals). The nomination of early career investigators and individuals who have led mentorship initiatives for underrepresented groups in dementia science is particularly encouraged.

The AAIC Neuroscience Next ‘One to Watch’ Award recognizes the next generation of leaders in neuroscience; the students, postdoctoral researchers and early career investigators who are trailblazers in scientific thinking, collaboration, communication and/or outreach. The nomination of individuals who are facilitating diverse perspectives in dementia science is particularly encouraged.
