Alzheimer’s Research UK – Early Careers Day

On Monday 28 February we will be holding a full day for early career researchers with sessions specifically designed to support those starting their careers in dementia research.


The Early Careers Day is taking place both online through our virtual platform and in-person at the Brighton Centre. It is open to both Alzheimer’s Research UK and non-Alzheimer’s Research UK-funded researchers.

Through talks and workshops, you will learn from experienced scientists as well as PhD students. We are pleased to offer delegates the option of attending a variety of parallel sessions. Please indicate your preference during your registration.

You can register to attend the Early Careers Day along with the main Conference.

Early Careers Day Programme Committee

The Early Careers Day programme has been formed by Early Career Representatives and ARUK fellows from the Alzheimer’s Research UK South Coast, Thames Valley, University College London, and Kings College London Network Centres.

Registration and Abstract submission

You can register to attend the Early Careers Day along with the main Conference.

We’re giving PhD delegates the opportunity to speak at our Conference. All delegates can exhibit their work at our poster presentation sessions.

Please find more details about submitting an oral or poster abstract in the confirmation email once you have registered.

Laura Pulford Prize

The £250 Laura Pulford Prize will be awarded to the PhD student who gives the best presentation at the Early Careers Day of the Conference. This award is in memory of Laura Pulford, an Alzheimer’s Research UK-funded PhD student who was always keen to share her passion for science through public engagement, speaking with flair and enthusiasm for her research.
