How Does Diversity Impact Innovation in Team Science?

Evidence from team science research finds that having diverse perspectives in science benefits individual scientists and the scientific enterprise. Outcomes from team science-related research offers insights on approaches to foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in team-led research. This seminar, in collaboration with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), will offer perspectives on diversity in team science-related data findings from the United States and United Kingdom.
NIH’s Chief Officer for Scientific Workforce Diversity (COSWD) Marie A. Bernard, M.D., and URKI’s Deputy Director for Research Culture and Environment Karen N. Salt, Ph.D., will moderate the 90-minute discussion. Panelists will describe approaches to improve training, foster inclusive teamwork, and impact leadership in the scientific workforce and the outcomes of this work.
