ISTAART Diversity and Disparities PIA: Neuroscience Mentoring Club

April 25 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

ISTAART Logo

The ISTAART Diversity and Disparities PIA is hosting a Neuroscience Mentoring Club this month, with a fun twist. Attend this meeting for real-time peer-to-peer feedback on grant applications. A selection of mentees will share their grant proposals, discuss funding mechanisms, and brainstorm their ideas. Mentors and attendees will then have the opportunity to provide feedback to help make the application the best it can be.

The ISTAART Neuroscience Mentoring Clubs are informal virtual meetings that aim to create a relaxed, confidential space for PIA members to exchange ideas and perspectives. Meetings are not recorded and provide a forum for open dialogue and feedback. These meetings are designed to help catalyze collaboration, foster mentorships and encourage interaction between senior and junior researchers from diverse backgrounds.

Moderator:

  • Roy McReynolds III, Ph.D.; University of California Los Angeles, United States

Mentees:

  • Tehniat Ahmed, MBBS; Dow University of Health Sciences — Investigating microRNAs targeting insulin resistance pathway genes as the common link between Alzheimer’s disease and Metabolic syndrome (Preparing to submit to The Vice Chancellor Seed Funding Initiative Sindh Higher Education Commission)
