Learning from UKRI Sciencewise, Public Dialogue & Policy Cycle
19/04/2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

The UK government’s goal is for the UK to be a science superpower, so it’s more important now than ever that discourse around science and technology is less narrow, that policy-makers are supported to make inclusive decisions, and that outcomes are shaped by a diversity of lived experience, views and values and UKRI Sciencewise has helped.
In the last year UK Research and Innovation has supported Sciencewise dialogues on important topics ranging from clean growth technology to the ethics of geolocation data, to the future of flight, and the use of whole genome sequencing in healthcare.
Through these engagements, policy makers and research funders have taken account of diverse views at different points in the policy cycle. This event will give you the chance to hear how policy commissioners have used the insights, their experiences of Sciencewise support and future plans for engagement.
Sarah Castell, Chief Executive, Involve will Chair this conversation with commissioners of Sciencewise supported dialogues exploring the role of public dialogue at different stages in the research and policy cycle.
This hour-long webinar is your chance to:
1. Hear commissioners of UKRI Sciencewise public dialogues discuss:
- key dialogue learning and insights used in policy-making
- experiences of the Sciencewise programme and plans for future engagement
2. Find out how Sciencewise can support you in the development of policy and research.
