16/10/2023 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

This is an opportunity to hear further details of the call from Professor James Rowe and others about the MND Accelerator and its focus on translational and experimental medicine.
About the Webinar
the webinar will be a purely online event, including time for many of your questions to be answered by the panel. (You can submit questions in advance via our email info@mndacc.com).
In advance, please ensure you have read the Request for Proposals document we are issuing on October 9th.
Proposals must focus on human-based approaches, should be hypothesis driven and should be achievable in 6-18 months. The closing date for initial submissions is Monday December 16th 2023.
Potential applicants can hear about:
- How the MND Accelerator has been designed to be flexible and what this means;
- What access to the facilities and infrastructure can mean for projects;
- Understand how proposals will be considered and ultimately selected for inclusion on the Accelerator programme.
About the MND Accelerator
The Medical Research Council (MRC) and the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) are investing £6m in translational and experimental medicine research on motor neuron disease. The programme, referred to as MNDAcc (Motor Neuron Disease Accelerator) is intended to support diagnostics, treatment and prevention interventions emerging from a growing understanding of disease mechanisms.
MNDAcc is managed by Dementias Platform UK (DPUK) by providing infrastructure and key services. In addition, the UK Dementia Research Institute (UKDRI) is providing access to its scientific platforms and capabilities.
