SUMMARY:Research Showcase - Music\, Mathematics and the Ageing Brain
DESCRIPTION:What can music tell us about how the brain adapts to ageing and neurodegeneration. And how can mathematics help us understand those changes. \nThis livestream is part of the Dementia Researcher weekly Showcase series. Each week we host a 45 minute online session bringing researchers together to share their work\, methods\, and ideas. \nIn this session\, Dr Sarah Faber will introduce her work as a computational neuroscientist exploring how the brain adapts to ageing and neurodegeneration. Using music as a core investigative tool alongside advanced mathematical and modelling approaches\, her research examines how brain networks reorganise in response to change. \nDrawing on her multidisciplinary background in neuroscience\, music\, and quantitative methods\, Sarah will discuss how computational neuroscience can reveal patterns of adaptation in the ageing brain\, and what music based paradigms can teach us about resilience and vulnerability. \nAttendees can expect an engaging research focused talk with time for questions and discussion. \n\nRegister
