SUMMARY:INS 2026 - Mid-Year Meeting
DESCRIPTION:In a global context of challenges and threats to equality\, diversity\, and inclusion\, that affects access to healthcare\, research\, and clinical practice\, neuropsychology needs to play an active role in raising awareness of its current and potential contributions to approach these global challenges. Advances in diagnostics\, assessments\, and interventions\, pushed by the latest technological developments and the use of artificial intelligence\, have huge potential but progress must be inclusive and relevant to real-world needs. If we are aiming for a neuropsychology without limits\, science needs to dialogue with real people and acknowledge the diverse challenges that they face. \nThis meeting\, hosted by the International Neuropsychological Society\, the Psychological Society of Ireland – Division of Neuropsychology\, and the British Psychological Society – Division of Neuropsychology\, will welcome contributions from across the globe that target the traditional topics related to diagnosis\, assessment and rehabilitation of different populations (clinical and non-clinical) across the lifespan\, with an emphasis on the challenges posed by technologies\, on how neuropsychology can overcome inequalities and be truly inclusive from a gender\, race\, background and culture perspective. \nHere in Dublin\, we give you a Céad Míle Fáilte (a hundred thousand welcomes) to be part of a meeting that aims to look to the future of neuropsychology with fully open\, diverse\, and inclusive eyes. \nRegistration for the INS 2026 Mid Year Meeting\, which will be held at Trinity Business School in Dublin\, from the 22nd-24th July 2026 is now open! \nFull attendee registration includes: \n\nAccess to the conference sessions for 3 days\nAccess to the exhibition & posters\n1 ticket to the Welcome Reception\nTea & coffee\nComplimentary Wi-Fi\nLunch is not included in the registration fee\, the various options to purchase lunch will be made available\n\n\nRegister

This interactive\, evidence-informed study day explores how dementia affects people with a learning disability and highlights key differences before\, during\, and after diagnosis. Taking a future-focused approach it sets out the knowledge and skills needed to support an ageing population of people with a learning disability and dementia. \n\n\n\n\nWhat you will learn:\n\nBetter understanding of how dementia may affect people with a learning disability and their families.\nContribution to improved wellbeing of people with a learning disability before\, during and after a dementia diagnosis.\nEnhanced recognition of how life-course planning can support preparation for an ageing population of people with a learning disability\, some of whom will develop dementia.\n\nWho is this study day for:\nFor professionals supporting people ageing with a learning disability and their families across a range of health and social care contexts. Since then\, she has continued to deliver award-winning\, internationally recognised training for health and social care professionals. \nKaren is also Professor of Ageing\, Dementia and Frailty at the University of Stirling and Founder/CEO of SquarePeg training.
