If you are thinking about applying for funding and want to get patient and public involvement right from the start\, this session offers a view from both the funder and a successful team. \nWhat the webinar covers\nThe session opens with an introduction to the MRC Centre of Research Excellence (MRC CoRE) model\, and why MRC uses maturity levels to assess public partnerships. \nPanel perspective: the vital role of public partnerships\nProfessor Marcus Munafò\, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost\, University of Bath \nCase study: inside a successful MRC CoRE application\nProfessor Peter Magill\, Director\, and team from the MRC Centre of Research Excellence in Restorative Neural Dynamics\, which is developing device-based treatments for brain conditions including Parkinson’s and dementia. \nPresentations are followed by questions to the panel. \nWho should attend\nThe webinar is aimed at researchers and at public involvement and engagement professionals. It will be especially useful for early career researchers preparing larger funding bids\, and for anyone curious about the role of a public advisor researcher in a research team. \nFurther reading from MRC\nBefore the session\, you may find it useful to look at the MRC public partnerships strategy and its examples of good practice for researchers. \nThe event is free\, and registration is open until the day of the webinar. \nRegister \n\nOrganised by the Medical Research Council.
