DESCRIPTION:The future of brain health depends on new ways of thinking and working together. Join the Alzheimer’s Association from October 30-31 2026 in Charlotte\, NC and online for AAIC® Advancements: Reducing Disparities in Brain Health\, where leaders from academia\, community organisations\, government and philanthropy will come together to move beyond understanding disparities and toward real-world solutions. \nBrain health disparities are complex and shaped by intersecting biological\, social\, environmental and structural factors\, and no single discipline can solve them alone. That’s why this conference is designed to spark collaboration\, align priorities and generate actionable strategies that work across communities and settings. \nThe conference takes place at The Westin Charlotte\, 601 S. College St.\, Charlotte\, NC 28202\, with a virtual option for those who cannot travel. Abstract submissions have now closed\, and registration is open. \nKey dates\n\nAug. 4\, 2026: Abstract submissions open.\nSept. 1\, 2026 — 11:59 p.m. ET: Abstract submission closes (General).\nSept. 4\, 2026 — 11:59 p.m. ET: Abstract submission closes (ISTAART).\nSep. 30\, 2026: Abstract notifications sent.\n\nResearch themes\nAll are invited to submit abstracts and share research findings on reducing disparities in brain health. Abstract themes are aligned with the Health Disparities Framework and its domains: \n\nEnvironmental factors\nSociocultural factors\nBehavioral factors\nBiological factors\nLifecourse perspective\n\nRegistration rates\nRates are tiered by the World Bank’s country income groups\, and the right rate is applied automatically based on your category and country. HIC means high-income country; LMIC means low- and middle-income country. \nIn person \n\nNon-member (all countries): $250\nMember professional (HIC): $150\nMember postdoc or student (HIC): $50\nMember professional\, postdoc or student (LMIC): $50\n\nVirtual \n\nNon-member (all countries): $25\nMember: free\n\nJoining ISTAART\nNon-members can join ISTAART\, the Alzheimer’s Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment\, while registering and pay the member rate. Membership runs until 30 June 2027 and costs: \n\nProfessional (HIC): $125\nPostdoc (HIC): $65\nStudent (HIC): free\nProfessional\, postdoc or student (LMIC): free\n\nPostdocs and students must be enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate programmes at degree-awarding institutions\, and may be asked for proof of status.
