DESCRIPTION:The International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders brings together clinicians\, researchers\, healthcare professionals\, trainees and industry representatives working across Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. \nTaking place in Seoul\, the 2026 Congress will provide opportunities to hear about current research\, clinical practice and emerging approaches to diagnosing\, treating and supporting people affected by movement disorders. \nThe theme for the 2026 scientific programme is Understanding Aging in Movement Disorders\, examining how ageing influences disease mechanisms\, clinical presentation\, progression\, treatment and care. \nAbout the Congress\nThe annual Congress is organised by the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society\, a global professional society representing clinicians\, scientists and other healthcare professionals working in movement disorders. \nThe meeting aims to support the exchange of scientific and clinical knowledge\, encourage international collaboration and improve the diagnosis\, treatment and care of people living with Parkinson’s disease and related conditions. \nThe programme includes more than 60 educational and scientific sessions\, with content suitable for researchers and professionals at foundational\, intermediate and advanced levels. \nProgramme highlights\nThe Congress programme includes plenary lectures\, therapeutic sessions\, parallel presentations\, teaching courses\, applied skills sessions\, video-based case discussions\, oral presentations and e-posters. \nTopics relevant to dementia and neurodegeneration researchers include: \n\nAgeing and comorbidities in parkinsonism\nCognitive impairment in Parkinson’s disease\nNon-motor features of Parkinson’s disease\nEarly and prodromal Parkinson’s disease\nGenetics of Parkinson’s disease\nTau disorders\, including progressive supranuclear palsy and corticobasal degeneration\nNeuroimaging of parkinsonian disorders\nArtificial intelligence in movement disorders\nDigital health assessment\nPsychiatric complications in Parkinson’s disease\nMeasuring cognitive impairment\nSleep and parasomnias\nPalliative care in movement disorders\nEmerging therapeutics and clinical trial findings\n\nDelegates will also be able to attend sessions involving real patients and clinical cases\, the MDS Video Challenge\, Presidential Lectures and the MDS Keynote and Clinical Breakthroughs session. \nWorkshops and networking\nSpecial-interest workshops will cover clinical research methodology\, neurosurgery and paediatric movement disorders. \nThe Clinical Research Methodology Workshop will examine common methodological problems in movement disorders research and offer practical guidance on study design\, outcome measures and the interpretation of findings. \nNetworking events are planned for young delegates\, health professionals\, women working in movement disorders and basic scientists. DESCRIPTION:The NIHR Academy Members’ Conference 2026 will be held on 6 and 7 October. This will be a hybrid event with in-person attendance at The Queens Hotel\, Leeds\, and online streaming for a virtual audience. \nThe title of this year’s conference is NIHR20 – The future is digital: revolutionising health and care research. \nThe annual event is a fantastic opportunity for early career researchers to hear from inspiring speakers\, network with peers and understand more about the NIHR. The conference will include a packed schedule of keynote speakers\, panel discussions\, breakout sessions and networking opportunities. \nThe agenda and format of this year’s event has been developed with input from a steering group of NIHR Academy Members and a public contributor. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe NIHR Academy Members’ Conference is a fantastic opportunity for early career researchers. To be eligible to attend the conference in person\, delegates should be an NIHR Academy Member currently on an NIHR academic path. Please note there are a limited number of in-person places. \nVirtual attendance is open to all. \nRegistration will open in June. Registration for an in person place will close on 31 July\, whereas registration to attend virtually will be open until 6 October. \nAfter registration you will receive a confirmation email for your requested place. SUMMARY:EFAR Conference on the Biology of Aging
DESCRIPTION:The first Conference of the European Federation for Aging Research will bring together researchers from across Europe and beyond to discuss the biological processes that shape ageing\, longevity and age-related disease. \nTaking place in Cologne\, the conference aims to encourage scientific exchange\, strengthen collaboration between Europe’s ageing research communities and support early career researchers entering the field. \nAbout the conference\nThe European Federation for Aging Research was established by the German Society for Aging Research\, the Dutch Society for Research on Ageing\, Nordic Aging and the British Society for Research on Ageing. \nEFAR aims to connect researchers across Europe\, promote ageing research\, support the development of younger scientists and encourage policies that strengthen the field. Further national ageing research societies are also expected to join the federation. \nFor dementia and neurodegeneration researchers\, the meeting may be particularly relevant to those investigating the biological mechanisms that connect ageing with cognitive decline\, cellular dysfunction and age-related disease. \nProgramme\nThe scientific programme will include six main conference sessions featuring invited speakers and presentations selected from submitted abstracts. \nThe conference will open on Wednesday 14 October\, followed by two scientific sessions and an evening poster session with food and refreshments. Thursday will include three further scientific sessions and an EFAR members’ meeting. The final session will take place on Friday morning\, followed by concluding remarks and the presentation of poster prizes. \nEarly career researchers were particularly encouraged to submit abstracts for talks and posters.
