DESCRIPTION:Save the Date: SHARP & Scottish Lipid Forum Annual Meeting 2026\n12 – 13 November 2026 | Crieff Hydro Hotel \n\nWe are pleased to announce that this year’s SHARP and Scottish Lipid Forum Annual Meeting will take place on 12 and 13 November 2026 at Crieff Hydro Hotel. \nWe’re looking forward to another year of bringing together healthcare professionals\, researchers\, students\, and industry partners from across Scotland and beyond for two inspiring days of discussion\, learning\, and collaboration. \nThis year’s programme is being developed by Professor Mary Joan MacLeod\, Chair of SHARP\, and Dr Rosemary Clarke\, Chair of the Scottish Lipid Forum\, alongside the SHARP Executive Committee and contributions from our trustees. Together\, they are incorporating feedback from previous meetings to create a varied\, relevant\, and engaging programme. \nThe Annual Meeting provides a unique opportunity to explore how the latest evidence\, data\, national policy developments\, and research are shaping clinical practice. It is also an important forum for sharing experiences\, strengthening professional networks\, and encouraging collaboration across primary and secondary care. \nWhat to Expect \nDelegates can look forward to an engaging programme featuring expert lectures\, interactive workshops\, cutting-edge research presentations\, and excellent networking opportunities. The event is designed to encourage collaboration\, discussion\, and the exchange of ideas across disciplines and specialties. \nProgramme Focus \nThis year’s meeting will explore key topics shaping cardiovascular disease prevention\, lipid management\, and clinical practice. \nThe SHARP programme will include sessions on national data programmes and clinical audit\, the management of cardiovascular disease in patients with cancer\, and updates on emerging antithrombotic therapies. \nDelegates will also hear from speakers working across Scotland’s remote and rural communities\, who will share innovative approaches to care and discuss the challenges of delivering services in diverse settings\, including stroke care and the use of GLP-1 receptor agonists. \nThe Scottish Lipid Forum programme will address important questions in lipid care\, including the role of lipid management in older adults and where lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] currently fits within clinical practice. \nThe draft programme will be published shortly. \nWhy Attend \n\nJoin a diverse community of healthcare professionals from the UK and internationally\nLearn how policy and the latest research are influencing clinical practice\nShare best practice and clinical experience with colleagues\nContribute to discussions shaping future care and service delivery\nDiscover the latest developments in cardiovascular disease prevention and lipid management\nEarly career researchers and students will have the opportunity to present their work through the SHARP Prize and dedicated student presentation sessions\n\nStudent Ambassador Programme\nApplications are now open for the SHARP & Scottish Lipid Forum Student Ambassador Programme 2026. \nOur Student Ambassadors play an important role in supporting the delivery of the Annual Meeting and creating a welcoming and engaging experience for delegates\, speakers\, and presenters. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience at a national healthcare conference\, develop new skills\, and network with healthcare professionals from across Scotland and beyond. \nWhat will Student Ambassadors do? \nStudent Ambassadors will support a range of activities throughout the meeting\, including: \n\nSupporting Q&A sessions during the main programme\nWelcoming and assisting delegates throughout the meeting\nHelping attendees find workshops\, sessions\, and facilities\nSupporting speakers and session chairs where required\nAssisting with the Secondary School Education Day\nProviding general conference support to help ensure the smooth running of the event\n\nWho can apply? \nApplications are open to SHARP student members studying healthcare-related programmes\, including medicine\, nursing\, pharmacy\, allied health professions\, and other relevant disciplines. \nNot already a SHARP member? Student membership is free\, and you can join before applying. \nWe welcome applications from students across Scotland and encourage applicants from a range of healthcare disciplines and geographical areas. \nWhat do Student Ambassadors receive? \nSuccessful applicants will receive: \n\nFree day registration for the Annual Meeting\nOvernight accommodation\nReasonable travel expenses reimbursed\nInvitation to the conference drinks reception and dinner\nOpportunity to attend lectures\, workshops\, and research presentations\nValuable experience supporting a national educational conference\nNetworking opportunities with healthcare professionals\, researchers\, and fellow students from across the UK\nA certificate recognising their contribution\n\nAs places are limited\, applications will be reviewed by the SHARP organising team. DESCRIPTION:The UK Stroke Forum is the UK’s largest multidisciplinary conference for stroke care professionals. \nUKSF fosters knowledge exchange\, collaboration\, and innovation in stroke prevention\, treatment\, and rehabilitation. SUMMARY:European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) forum 2027
DESCRIPTION:Global Health European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership 3 (Global Health EDCTP3) is a unique European and African partnership working to improve health through research and development. Backed by the European Union and over 45 countries\, we focus on infectious diseases that continue to harm millions across sub-Saharan Africa. \nWe fund clinical trials and studies\, train researchers\, and strengthen the African clinical research ecosystem\, ensuring that solutions are developed where they are most needed and global health security is increased. \nThe Global Health EDCTP3 is co-governed by two equal partners: \n\nThe European Union\, represented by the European Commission;\nThe EDCTP Association\, representing European and African countries.\n\nThe main programme will run over five days\, from 5-9 April 2027\, and is expected to include: \n\nPlenary sessions with keynote addresses delivered by leading international scientists and policymakers.\nParallel sessions consisting of abstract-driven oral presentations organised according to thematic areas linked to the Forum theme.\nScientific symposia organised by groups of researchers or organisations on topics related to the Forum theme.\nPrize-giving ceremonies awarding the winners of the EDCTP Prizes competition.\nA poster exhibition drawing from the abstract submitted.\nSponsored satellite sessions and workshops.\nCountless networking opportunities such as the ‘Meet the experts’ and one-to-one meetings.\nField visits to research centres in and around Madrid.\n\nSubscribe to the Global Health EDCTP3 newsletter and follow us on LinkedIn\, Bluesky and  X for the latest news on the programme. \nEDCTP has recently opened a call for abstracts\, scientific symposia and workshops for their forum\, taking place on 5-9 April 2027 in Madrid\, Spain.
