SUMMARY:Research Showcase - Seizure Risk and Dementia Care
DESCRIPTION:How often are hidden neurological events missed in dementia care. And could better seizure risk assessment improve support for older adults in long term care settings. \nThis livestream is part of the Dementia Researcher weekly Showcase series. Each week we host a 45 minute online session bringing researchers together to share their work\, methods\, and ideas. \nIn this session\, Russ Barker will present work exploring the coexistence of dementia and epileptiform activity\, an important but under explored issue in geriatric neurology and long term care. His integrative literature review brings together evidence from across disciplines to identify key seizure risk domains in dementia care. \nRuss is Founder and CEO of Seagull Health\, based in Blue Springs\, Missouri.
