SUMMARY:Co-producing Community-based Initiatives in Dementia Care
DESCRIPTION:Join the EMPOWER Dementia Network+\, the University of Worcester and Greenisland Golf Club for an afternoon on co-producing community-based initiatives in dementia research and care. \nThis free partnership event shares best practice on co-producing community-based support. It brings together people living with dementia\, family carers\, community organisations\, researchers\, practitioners and members of the public to explore how working together can help people affected by dementia to live meaningful lives. \nAt its heart is the EMPOWER-funded project Developing and implementing Meeting Centres in Northern Ireland: A Co-production Approach to Community-based Support. \nThe day will include\n\nLunch\, served at 12 noon\nPresentations and learning from the Meeting Centres project\nA table-top discussion on co-production and community-based support\nCreative activities and workshops exploring what empowerment and living meaningfully mean in the context of dementia\nCommunity stalls showcasing local initiatives supporting people affected by dementia\nTime for networking and sharing learning\n\nWho should come\nAll are welcome: researchers\, community groups\, people living with dementia and their friends\, family and carers\, health practitioners\, local businesses\, and anyone passionate about or interested in dementia care and research. \nPlaces are limited\, so register as early as you can. SUMMARY:Barcelona Blood-Brain Barrier Conference – B4 2026
DESCRIPTION:The blood-brain barrier (BBB) separates the blood circulation from the brain tissue. However\, despite its name\, the BBB is far from a static\, impenetrable barrier. Instead\, this highly dynamic structure responds to and regulates the complex requirements of brain function. \nTo advance our knowledge of how the BBB impacts health and disease\, the 3rd edition of the Barcelona Blood-Brain Barrier Conference will bring together scientists from across the globe to discuss emerging topics in BBB physiology\, pathology and translational research. SUMMARY:Research Showcase - Why Communities Matter in Digital Health Research
DESCRIPTION:How do we make sure digital health research reflects the people it is intended to support? And what happens when communities are involved in research rather than simply being studied? \nThis livestream is part of the Dementia Researcher weekly Showcase series. Each week we host a 45 minute online session bringing researchers together to share their work\, methods and ideas. \nIn this session\, Anisha Ramjuttun will explore the importance of public engagement and community involvement in digital health research. Drawing on their work within an NHS research study using technologies including sensors\, wearable devices and sleep mats to monitor people’s health in their own homes\, Anisha will consider how researchers can communicate this work and involve a wider range of communities in shaping it. \nThe session will draw on Anisha’s experience of community outreach across Surrey and working with lived experience groups. They will discuss the importance of making research understandable and relevant to different audiences\, building relationships beyond traditional research settings\, and creating opportunities for people to contribute their knowledge and experiences. \nAnisha is a Research Assistant at Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. DESCRIPTION:CurePSP and PSPA are excited to announce Neuro2026: The PSP and CBD International Research Symposium\, set to take place at the Hilton Bankside in London\, United Kingdom\, on November 5-6\, 2026. This event aims to bring together experts from all over the world to share the latest scientific breakthroughs.  \nThe symposium will showcase PSP and CBD research conducted by distinguished neuroscientists and is open to all researchers interested in preclinical and clinical neuroscience. The two-day program will feature discussions and presentations covering multiple themes including earlier diagnosis for PSP and CBD\, industry perspectives and clinical trial updates\, preclinical models for therapeutic development\, improving the patient experience for those with PSP and CBD and more. \nThe full agenda will be posted in spring 2026. \nThis event is technical and is intended for a medical and research audience.  \nFor questions\, email events@curepsp.org. \nCall for Abstracts \n\n\nNeuro2026 will include poster presentations selected from submitted abstracts.
