20/139 – Mechanisms of action of health interventions (pilot call of expanded remit)

The Efficacy and Mechanism Evaluation Programme is accepting stage 1 applications to their commissioned workstream for this funding opportunity.

The EME Programme invites proposals for hypothesis driven research into the underlying mechanisms of action of clinical and public health interventions. Studies must utilise patients or samples from identifiable cohorts from current or completed NIHR-funded projects from the following programmes: i4i, EME (including the MRC/NIHR transferred portfolio), HS&DR, HTA, PHR, RfPB and PGfAR or equivalent funding from the Devolved Administrations.

All primary research projects are expected to establish a programme appointed Study Steering Committee and it is important that you read the TSC/SSC Guidance before completing your application. Costs incurred by this committee should be included in the budget as appropriate.
