The NIHR Evidence Synthesis Programme Grant Scheme (formerly the Cochrane Programme Grant scheme) was established to provide high quality evidence synthesis and systematic reviews that will be of direct benefit to users of the NHS and social care services in England. The intention of this round is to broaden the remit to include the Campbell Collaboration to improve the support to social care topics.
Full applications are now invited for a new round of the scheme.
In a change to the previous scheme the Evidence Synthesis Programme Grants scheme will now be an annual call, with projects lasting for eighteen months.
Grants will be for up to £100,000 for an eighteen-month project. Grants will be awarded to support a programme of work that includes both new reviews; updating of existing reviews; a suite of methodologically complex reviews; and reviews that demonstrate meeting a clear NHS and social care need. Reviews on the integration between the NHS and social care services are highly encouraged. Applications seeking less than the maximum grant value will receive equal consideration.
