21/16 Improving support for adult and/or older carers
The Health Services and Delivery Research (HS&DR) Programme wishes to fund high quality, theory-led work on effective approaches to supporting carers. New research of all kinds is needed, but specific priorities have been identified by carers, voluntary groups and others. Some examples of priorities identified include:
- overviews of what works to reduce social isolation for carers
- evaluations of models of ‘centres’ to support carers
- better ways of identifying and assessing carer support needs, particularly older individuals, and those in marginalised communities.
In order to apply for this commissioned call you will need to carefully review the:
- Commissioning brief
- Supporting information
- Stage 1 guidance notes
- HS&DR supporting information for applicants
All primary research projects are expected to establish a programme appointed Study Steering Committee and it is important that you read the TSC/SSC Guidance before completing your application. Costs incurred by this committee should be included in the budget as appropriate.
