21/501 Health and social care outcomes and cost-effectiveness of assistive technologies

The Health Technology Assessment Programme is preparing to accept stage 1 applications to its commissioned workstream for this primary research topic. The call will open 29 April 2021, however, potential applicants are invited to start working on applications based on the commissioning brief linked below. Applications received by the advertised closing date will be considered at a first-stage funding committee meeting, and successful applicants will then be invited to submit a stage 2 application. Applicants will have eight weeks to complete and submit their stage 2 application form, which will then be considered at the following HTA funding committee meeting. Webinar

The NIHR will be holding a webinar to discuss this call on 7 May 2021, at 9:30-10:30am. The webinar will be followed by virtual clinics from 10:30-14:30. This will provide an opportunity for potential applicants to discuss their proposed research with the NIHR team and RDS colleagues.

Applicants may register to attend just the webinar by emailing their name and institution to htapanel@nihr.ac.uk. If you would also like to join a clinic please email a one page PICO summary of your proposed project to the above email address by 20 April 2021. Places are limited clinic appointments will be confirmed once the summaries have been reviewed. The intention is for the one-page summary to provide a basis for discussion at the clinic where team members will offer assistance and advice to potential applicants. The clinics do not form part of the funding process and will not result in, or influence any funding decision.
