EME Advanced Fellowship: Building clinical trials experience

National Institute for Health and Care Research HTA HSDRThe MRC-NIHR Efficacy and Mechanism Evaluation (EME) Programme and the NIHR Fellowships Programme are accepting applications to a joint funding opportunity, EME Advanced Fellowship: Building clinical trials experience.

We are keen to explore new ways to support the development of capacity and expertise in conducting clinical trials. The EME Advanced Fellowship provides those wishing to pursue an NIHR Advanced Fellowship the opportunity to apply for a fellowship, which will also support project funding to deliver and gain experience of leading a clinical study within remit of the EME Programme (with appropriate mentorship).

Expected timescale

This opportunity is open from 28 May to 17 September 2024. Applications to this scheme will be assessed for remit and competitiveness in the first instance. All in-remit and competitive applications will be externally peer reviewed with applications subsequently shortlisted for interview by a sub-committee of the assessment panel including the panel Chair, the Director of the EME Programme and representatives from the NIHR Academy.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview by the assessment panel. The interview will include a short (5-minute) presentation from candidates. Interviews are anticipated to take place during January 2025.
