During this free, immersive programme you will be encouraged to identify and reflect on your strengths and areas for development.
By undertaking the Future Focused Leadership Programme – Leaders Stream, you will:
- enhance your leadership abilities: the programme uses in-depth analysis of successful leadership, occupational psychology, and positive psychology to help you become a more effective leader
- immediately apply learnings: you can apply your new insights and skills to your role straight away
- network: you will join a multidisciplinary cohort of 40 peers, allowing you to network, share experiences, and collaborate with others in the field

You can apply if you are a current leader based within the NIHR who is delivering a national role for the NIHR. You will be developing into or taking up leadership roles at a senior level and facing significant leadership challenges where support will be most needed and impactful.
To be eligible for the leaders stream you must:
- currently lead at a national level for the NIHR, have demonstrable leadership influence as part of the NIHR or hold an Research Professorship or Senior Investigator award:
- for example, you might be a chair or co-chair of a governance board, or leading an NIHR strategic work stream which involves different parts of NIHR or its partners
- be able to show how your leadership contribution relates to the strategic aims of the NIHR
- able to identify leadership challenges from your NIHR role that you can work on as part of the programme
