Inspire Fund – public engagement grant

Provides funds to support public engagement projects.

The Inspire Fund provides funding for innovative projects that engage the public with dementia and the life-changing research going on into the condition.

This new public engagement funding scheme is part of Alzheimer’s Research UK’s work to tackle misconceptions around dementia and promote the importance of dementia research. We want to support new perspectives, talent and expertise to shed a spotlight on this important issue, and the Inspire Fund is open to anyone with the passion and skills to make that possible.

Apply today for one of our three funding tiers:

  • Bronze up to £5,000
  • Silver up to £15,000
  • Gold up to £30,000

We encourage applications from organisations and people with ideas, passion and ability to realise innovative public engagement projects – from those within or outside the research community, those with a track record in dementia engagement and those looking to apply their skills to this important issue for the first time.

We strongly encourage applicants to forge links with collaborators or groups to grow the scale of your ideas, and to evidence this in your application.

Inspire Fund projects must meet one of the following objectives:

  • Inform the public about dementia, including challenging misconceptions.
  • Build awareness of dementia and ignite action for change.
  • Engage and inspire the public with the progress being made in dementia research.

Projects must be completed and funding awarded within 1 year of the award being made.

We are interested in a broad range of projects and ideas – such as those utilising digital technology, powerful storytelling, art-science collaborations, performances, workshops or other events – we want you to be creative.
