Are you a clinical early career researcher (ECR) working towards research independence? Alzheimer’s Society’s Post-CCT Career Development grants offer one year of funding to allow promising clinical researchers to gather data and build their CV in preparation for the next stage in their career.

Award
Funding is available for up to 18 months part-time. This can include:
- Reasonable salary
- £18,000 for research costs
- £1,000 for career development costs
- Up to a maximum of £150,000 total.

Eligibility
Applicants must be early career researchers, and must not already be in open-ended, university-funded posts. They also need to have received their certificate of completion of training (CCT) in their medical specialism. Applicants must have completed their PhD at time of application.
We expect the ECR to be the lead applicant on this grant with a senior research supervisor within the same institution as a co-applicant. The research supervisor will provide the facilities and support to enable the applicant to complete the project. Supervisors must hold a position within the host institution for the duration of the grant.
Applicants are expected to maintain and develop their professional practice-based skills and continue clinical practice on a part-time basis throughout the grant.
Applicants must present a clear, attainable career plan upon application and demonstrate how this grant will enable the applicant to pursue a career in dementia research.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and the host institution must be in the UK.

Applicants should consider how their project can contribute to Alzheimer’s Society’s strategy and research mission.
Applicants must explain how their project contributes to the dementia field within these themes as alignment to our mission is incorporated into our scoring system at review.
