Seed Grant

Race Against Dementia’s vision is a breakthrough in the prevention or treatment of dementia with the greatest of urgency.

What’s your big idea that to accelerate progress in dementia research?

It might be to focus on a particular part of dementia science… or to facilitate better collaboration between disciplines and institutions….or it may be to encourage and recruit more people to make their careers in this important area…. or it might be about raising public awareness to raise pressure on government to increase funding…or something that the RAD team has not yet even imagined. We’re looking for out-of-box ideas and passionate people that have a plan to implement them.

Race Against Dementia is offering a £20,000 seed grant, to allow the winning applicant or team to make a start on their big idea, prove their concept, and get themselves in a position to be successful in acquiring funding for the next step.

We are happy to receive applications from dementia researchers, and also from people currently outside the field, who have an idea that they believe could make the critical difference that we need.

Grant amount: up to £20,000

Applications are now open and close on 6th September 2021 (5pm BST)

To apply, send your completed application form to clare@raceagainstdementia.com alongside your supporting documentation.

Within your proposal you should include a full financial breakdown, timescales and measures of success.

The selection process will be overseen by Race Against Dementia’s Scientific Advisors, Prof Siddharthan Chandran and Prof Phillip Scheltens.
