To date, over 1500 students have applied to be a part of in2scienceUK’s 2018 programme!
That means that over 1500 students are hoping to be able to work alongside researchers like yourselves, to speak with you about your past education experiences, science degrees and careers, and to get advice they may not receive at school or at home.
If you are interested in participating as a student:
The programme is designed to support students from low socioeconomic backgrounds with a passion for STEM subjects.
You may be eligible if you meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Receive Education Maintenance Allowance or Pupil Premium
- Received Free School Meals in year 11 or receive Free Meals at sixth form
- Have parents who do not have a university degree
Students need to be available for at least 2 weeks in the summer holidays and should live within a reasonable commute (60 minutes) of London, Oxford or Cambridge Science Park
as we do not organise accommodation for students.
For everyone else here….. they are still in need of researchers to host students this summer.
in2scienceUK placements are simple to organise: you choose the dates and they’ll interview and select the student for you.
Last year, researchers donated over 7000 hours to host 250 students from low income backgrounds. With your support, we can place even more students in 2018. Help us make a difference by hosting a student this summer!. Hosting a student acts as evidence for a research group’s public engagement and widening participation activities.
