This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding person to join the new £10 million Wolfson Centre for Young People’s Mental Health. The post will be based at Cardiff University in the Division of Psychological Medicine and Clinical Neurosciences, ranked second in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework assessment for Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience.
Cardiff University is looking to appoint a newly qualified or early career researcher. The post will specialise in longitudinal, epidemiological research on adolescent mental health. The post will involve conducting and supporting research using UK and international population data to assess factors that have contributed to population change in youth mental health. The post holder will have expertise in adolescent mental health including longitudinal data modelling methods, analysing large data sets and/or research on the epidemiology of mental health. The post holder will contribute to the research profile of the Division and Centre through research leading to published work of the highest quality. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and vibrant inter-disciplinary team of world-leading scientists in the fields of developmental psychopathology, psychiatry, epidemiology, genetics, data science, and social sciences.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in psychology, epidemiology, statistics, social science or related disciplines and will have a proven ability to publish in high impact peer review journals in the field of youth mental health.

This post is full time (35 hours per week). The anticipated start date for the post will be as soon as possible, however, there may some flexibility around this if a later date is preferred. The post will be fixed term until 31st March 2026
Salary £33,797 – £40,322 per annum (Grade 6). Starting salary is negotiable according to qualifications and experience.
