Applications are invited for a Centre Manager at the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI), at the University of Cambridge, Department of Clinical Neurosciences.

The University of Cambridge is now looking for an experienced Centre Manager to support all aspects of the Centre’s operations, working with the UK DRI Headquarters team and Clinical Neurosciences support teams. The Centre Manager is a key strategic and operational leadership post critical to developing and enhancing the Centre’s positioning as a state-of-the-art dementia research institute. The post-holder will work with the Centre Director to ensure the effective execution and running of the UK DRI Centre and projects on a day-to-day basis to enable key milestones to be met. You will take lead responsibility for the financial and operational management of the Centre including its staffing, equipment, health and safety, working closely with the UK DRI at Cambridge Laboratory Manager and Administrator as well as liaising with a wide range of internal scientific and administrative staff, external bodies such as collaborating research partners, laboratories, institutions and Universities and provision of regular reports (financial and progress) to UK DRI central administration.

The post holder will have significant experience in operational management and coordination in a large, complex multi-centre organisation. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent skills in leadership, backed up by a track record of successfully delivering key outputs to deadline and within budget. An ability to develop effective working relationships both within the University and across the UK DRI as a whole is essential. Previous experience working in an academic research setting is desirable.

The appointment will be made on a fixed-term basis and funding is available for five years in the first instance. The Centre is externally funded with funding awarded in five-year tranches subject to periodic funder review. Subject to successful renewal it is anticipated that staff posts will be extended in line with successive funding periods.
