Senior Research Fellow in Cognitive Neuroscience
The Wiseman research group  at the UK DRI at UCL are looking for a Senior Research Fellow to join the team at the Mary Lyon Centre (MLC) at the MRC Harwell Institute in Oxford.
You will develop novel assessment methods for the quantification of mouse behaviour and cognition. Key to the role will be working collaboratively with Dr Wiseman on the integration of this data with the results of molecular, cellular and whole organism phenotyping to determine the neurological basis of these alterations, providing a ground-breaking new mechanistic understanding of neurodegeneration.
The post is available from July 2021 and funded by the UK DRI at UCL until 18 August 2024 in the first instance.
You will have a PhD in Neuroscience, coupled with experience in the development of phenotypic assessment of mice and experimental design of mouse studies, and demonstrable experience of leading independent research projects, including training and supervising staff or students. Experience of statistical analysis of experimental datasets using R or SPSS is essential. Programming proficiency at advanced level in MATLAB and Python, plus an understanding of rodent behaviour and familiarity with DeepLabCut or DeepSqueak would be highly desirable.
