Part-Time Technology Support Officer

Applications are invited for the above fixed-term part-time post to join our team and provide support to a research study.

This is an NIHR PHR-funded study involving multi-centre collaborations between Bangor University (the lead organisation), the University of Strathclyde, University College London, Carers Trust Wales, Alzheimer Scotland, and the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, with input from the World Health Organisation.

The purpose of this post is to provide online or telephone advice to study participants in the use of a website ‘iSupport for dementia carers.’

Candidates should have good communication skills and be able to clearly convey information. They should be educated to 2 AS Levels or 1 A Level or NVQ 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area.

The successful candidate will join the DSDC Wales Research Centre, in the School of Medical and Health Sciences, Bangor University and will be expected to commence 4th January, 2022 (or as soon as possible thereafter) until 30th June, 2023. Ideally, the candidate will work 14.5 hours a week flexibly to suit the needs of the study participants where possible.

They are following government and Bangor University guidance regarding working during the COVID-19 pandemic, so the post-holder will be expected to work from home at present until further guidance is released. Although part of a large team, applicants need to be motivated and able to work independently. All equipment and training will be provided.

They will be accountable to the Chief Investigator, Professor Gill Windle, with day to day management provided by the trial manager.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.
