Tell us a little about yourself:

I’m 29 and have two beautiful dog children, a labradoodle called Molly and a whippet called Myrtle. I love knitting and currently have an obsession with turning other people’s pets into knitted stuffed toys. I occasionally talk about things that aren’t knitting or dogs.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself:

I recently branched out into designing and knitting ferret jumpers. Hint: it’s just a tube with leg holes.

Why did you choose to work in dementia?

When I was 18 I took a year out before going to University, and got a job working in a residential care home for people with a dementia. I fell in love with the role and never looked back, going back to University when I was 23 to exclusively study dementia.

What single piece of advice would you give to an early career researcher?

Perseverance is key! Never give up.
