Observe ARUK Grant Review Board

Alzheimer’s Research UK has opened applications for researchers to observe its June 2026 grant review board, offering a rare opportunity to see how funding decisions are made in practice.

The Research Committee, which acts as a grant review board, will meet across two days from Tuesday 30 June to Wednesday 1 July 2026. Selected observers will be invited to join one of the sessions online, depending on availability.

During this round, the board will assess applications for PhD Scholarships, Research Fellowships, and Senior Research Fellowships. For early and mid career researchers, this is a chance to understand how proposals are reviewed, what distinguishes stronger applications, and how decisions are reached.

Applications are open to researchers from final year PhD students through to current Research Fellows. Applicants should show a clear intention to apply for one of the fellowship schemes being reviewed during this round.

Alzheimer’s Research UK is particularly encouraging applications from researchers who are underrepresented at senior academic levels, including women and those from minority ethnic backgrounds. Opening up the grant review process in this way supports greater transparency and helps build confidence in applying for funding.

Places are limited and the call may close early if enough applications are received.

Researchers interested in seeing how funding decisions are made from the inside are encouraged to apply soon.
