SUMMARY:EquaDem Network Plus Conference
DESCRIPTION:EquaDem\, one of four national dementia plus networks hosts its 2nd annual conference on tackling inequalities in dementia care & diagnosis. \n\n\n\n\nOne million people are living with dementia in the UK\, with numbers continuing to increase. Research continues to show people living with dementia and their unpaid carers experience many inequalities in accessing care and obtaining an assessment and diagnosis. The first national network dedicated to finding solutions to inequalities in dementia diagnosis and care\, EquaDem\, is finding solutions to address these inequalities by working together with people living with dementia and their families as well as care professionals and Third Sector organisations. \nEquaDem’s second annual conference will showcase key findings from the network’s collaborative work to date and bring together experts in dementia policy and practice with those with lived experience of dementia to find the best ways of reducing current inequalities. Keynote speakers include Fiona Carragher\, Chief Policy and Research Officer at the Alzheimer’s Society\, and Professor Martin Knapp\, Professor of Health and Social Care Policy at LSE (London School of Economics and Political Science)\, Professor Louise Robinson\, Professor of Primary Care and Ageing\, Newcastle University and Dr Clarissa Giebel\, Senior Research Fellow\, The University of Liverpool . \nThe conference will take place in the ‘Heroes Room’ within St James’ Park football ground\, Newcastle upon Tyne\, NE1 4ST. \nRegister to Attend
