SUMMARY:European Meeting on Imaging in Neurodegeneration
DESCRIPTION:EU-MIND (European Meeting on Imaging in Neurodegeneration) is a European scientific conference dedicated to neuroimaging in neurodegenerative diseases. Initiated by the collective vision of Gaël Chételat\, Julie Gonneaud\, and Robin de Flores from the Inserm Neuropresage Lab (Caen\, France)\, and co-founded by the Fondation Alzheimer\, EU-MIND was born from the need to build a more connected\, visible\, and well-defined European research community in this specialized field. \nThe first edition took place in Caen\, France\, in September 2024\, and was a great success\, bringing together researchers\, clinicians\, and early-career scientists from across Europe. Driven by values of collaboration\, diversity\, and scientific excellence\, EU-MIND is now held every two years in a different European city. \nJoin us in shaping the future of neuroimaging research in neurodegenerative diseases! \nRegister\n\nWhy such a congress?\n\nUnprecedented focus: EU-MIND is dedicated exclusively to neuroimaging in neurodegenerative diseases\, bringing together the European community working on this vital subject.\nNetworking and collaboration: Get in touch with top-level researchers\, clinicians and experts in a dynamic\, interdisciplinary environment.\nScientific excellence: EU-MIND aims to be at the forefront of research in the field of neuroimaging and neurodegenerative diseases\, including Alzheimer’s disease.\nAdvancing research: by bringing together leading experts in the field to discuss and collaborate on current topics and issues\, EU-MIND hope to provide the ideal breeding ground for major advances in the understanding\, prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.\nSupporting and promoting young researchers in/from Europe\n\nInitiated by the Neuropresage team of the Inserm Caen U1237 unit and organized by the EU-MIND Scientific Committee\, the first edition of EU-MIND is supported by the Fondation Alzheimer. \nOrigins of the congress\nThe inception of EU-MIND was ignited by the collective vision of Gael Chetelat\, Julie Gonneaud\, and Robin de Flores from the Neuropresage team (Caen\, France). Recognizing a conspicuous void within the European neuroimaging community\, they discerned the absence of a dedicated platform for experts in neurodegenerative diseases. Motivated by this observation\, they felt a compelling need to bridge this gap and establish an exclusive forum where researchers\, clinicians\, and engineers across Europe could convene\, exchange insights\, and foster collaborations. EU-MIND emerged organically as the response to this imperative\, paving the way towards a more interconnected and impactful European research landscape in neuroimaging of neurodegenerative diseases. \nWhat is the role of the Fondation Alzheimer ?\nThe Fondation Alzheimer is a private funding organization dedicated to supporting Alzheimer’s research\, innovation\, and prevention efforts at the national\, European\, and international levels. One of its primary objectives is to address gaps in high-priority research areas. \nGiven that neuroimaging in neurodegenerative diseases offers significant advancements in understanding pathophysiology\, diagnosing\, and treating Alzheimer’s disease\, the Fondation Alzheimer plays a pivotal role in shaping in the EU-MIND initiative. \nThe foundation actively contributes its expertise by participating in strategic vision and serving on the Scientific Committee. Moreover\, it provides substantial financial support to cover conference expenses\, travel grants\, and other necessities. \nThe Fondation Alzheimer takes pride in being an early founder of EU-MIND\, ensuring its sustainability\, attractiveness\, and excellence. \n\nABSTRACT SUBMISSION AND TRAVEL AWARDS\n\nWe are inviting abstract submissions for symposium and/or poster presentations at EU-MIND 2026\, focusing on neuroimaging of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. \nWe seek original\, ongoing works and preliminary results. New findings are preferred\, but we also welcome updates to prior works or those presented elsewhere before EU-MIND. Abstracts should not be published as a journal article prior to the conference. \nIf you submit an abstract\, you can apply for a travel award (see below). \nWhen submitting your abstract\, please consider: \nSymposium\nTo be eligible for an oral presentation (~15 min) in a symposium\, your work must be within the following topics: \n\nThe role of sleep in neurodegenerative disorders\n Artificial intelligence and machine learning\nTherapeutic interventions and neuroimaging\nImaging Methods\nNon-Alzheimer’s disease /polypathology\nOmics & connectomics\n\nThe selection will be based on the abstract review scores. \nPoster\nThe selection will be based on the abstract review scores. In addition\, you have the option to be considered for the poster award competition. Poster rating will occur during the conference poster sessions. \nYou may also opt to be considered for a Datablitz presentation (a ~3 min oral “teaser” to highlight your poster). Selection will be based on abstract review scores. Please note that there are no topic restrictions for Datablitz presentations\, and be advised that as we have limited space so not all submissions may be accepted. \nYou will be asked whether you’d liked to be considered for any (or all) of these (travel awards\, datablitz\, oral presentation and poster award competition) directly in the abstract submission form. \nAttendance\nThe presenting author should attend in-person for poster\, datablitz and symposia presentations. \nDeadline: March 20th \n\nSubmit an Abstract
