SUMMARY:NIHR Webinar: Reaching Those Often Missed
DESCRIPTION:Patient and public involvement is a prerequisite for all NIHR-funded research. It can make research more relevant and higher quality\, and help build trust in the research and its outcomes. But how do you do it well\, especially with groups who are often missed? This free NIHR webinar looks at one study that set out to do exactly that. \nThe webinar runs online on Wednesday 11 November 2026 at 10:00 UK time. \nAbout the session\nTwo nurse-led Violence Prevention Teams work in Welsh emergency departments\, supporting patients who have been injured in violence. The NIHR-funded EDVIPE study evaluated whether these teams reduce repeat attendance. The study was shaped from design to dissemination by people with lived experience. \nSpeakers Professor Simon Moore and Megan Hamilton will explain how the study reached underrepresented groups by working with Welsh Women’s Aid\, BAWSO and The Wallich\, alongside two lay co-investigators.
