SUMMARY:Super-Resolution in the North 2026
DESCRIPTION:Super-Resolution in the North 2026 brings microscopists and imaging scientists together at the University of Sheffield on Friday 11 December 2026 to talk through the real challenges of developing and using super-resolution microscopy. \nHosted by the Royal Microscopical Society (RMS)\, this one-day meeting mixes short talks with plenty of time for discussion. It covers new developments in super-resolution imaging and the analysis of super-resolution data\, and the organisers are particularly keen for early career researchers to come along and contribute. \nIf your work uses advanced imaging to look at synapses\, protein aggregates or other cellular detail in the brain\, it’s a great chance to compare notes on methods and analysis with others working in the field. For a taste of how advanced microscopy is already shaping dementia research\, see our blog on how two-photon microscopy can be used in Alzheimer’s research and our story on 3D imaging of entire brains with light sheet microscopy. \nThe scientific organisers are Dr Ruby Peters (University of Sheffield) and Dr Daniel Nieves (University of Birmingham).
