What does your role involve:

I am an academic member of staff so the main components of my job are teaching and research.

I am currently a Senior Lecturer. My research interests include psychological aspects of neurological disorders, Uro-Neurology, Functional Neurological Symptoms (FNS), hypersexuality, and psychotherapeutic interventions e.g. Guided Self Help (GSH)  and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).

Tell us a little about yourself:            

I was awarded an MSc in Cognitive Neuropsychology in 1986 and I completed my PhD in Medical Psychology at UCL Institute of Neurology, Raymond Way Neuropsychiatry Unit. I am an academic and practitioner psychologist, an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS), Chartered Psychologist (2003); Health Psychologist (2004) and I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).

I was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2003. I was Academic Head of Institute of Neurology Education Unit for 11 years from its establishment: 01-May-2006 until the Education Unit was closed on 01-Oct-2017 after a re-organisation.

I was a Faculty Sub-Dean for 5 years in the (then named) Faculty of Clinical Sciences. I was Institute of Neurology Departmental Graduate Tutor (DGT) for 10 years.

For relaxation, I sometimes dance round my living room listening to old 60s and 70s tracks.
