Tell us a little about yourself:

My work primarily focuses on investigating how Alzheimer’s disease and posterior cortical atrophy affect visual perception and spatial awareness. My research combines neuropsychological and engineering approaches to develop and evaluate strategies supporting independent activities, including assistive technology and environmental adaptations to support reading, object finding and navigation.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself:

I was once a drummer in a band called ‘Gobbler’s Knob’

Why did you choose to work in dementia?

My first job after university was as a research assistant working with care home residents with dementia, specifically in evaluating and facilitating psychosocial interventions. I was very fortunate in being able to know a lot of residents who had a diverse range of experiences, and to see the efforts of staff in supporting residents.
