Tell us a little about yourself:
I am a Postdoc Researcher with a psychology background and a particular interest in qualitative methods. At the Dementia Research Centre at UCL I am looking at how people with Posterior Cortical Atrophy [1] (PCA) and typical Alzheimer’s Disease, and their carers, experience and manage the difficulties associated with these conditions at home and in their everyday lives.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
I am piloting a project using the universal language of baked goods to get people talking about the dementias (@baketell_tarts [2])
Why did you choose to work in dementia:
The dementias are a huge health issue, posing numerous challenges to the ways people perceive, relate to and understand the world and each other. These are important factors in anyone’s quality of life and I wanted to understand more about the different ways people are affected and most importantly – how people can continue to connect despite these difficulties.
