Tell us a little about yourself:
I came to London from N. Ireland back in 2010 to study Biology at Imperial college London, graduating in 2014. I then went to UCL to start a masters in Translational Neurology. At the UCL Huntington’s disease centre, which was where I completed my research project, I met my current boss and PhD supervisor. He had just obtained his MRC Clinician Scientist fellowship and needed a research assistant to run a CSF collection study. I started the job in Aug 2015 and enrolled as a part-time PhD student in May 2016. I am hoping to submit my PhD thesis in June 2019.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
I read all the Harry Potter books at least 4 times.
Why did you choose to work in dementia?
I have grown up in a family affected by Huntington’s disease so it was a natural choice for me to study it research wise.
