Tell us a little about yourself:
I have held posts at UCL, University of Sheffield and Hong Kong University. I am interested in developing neuroscience-motivated interventions for speech and language impairments. I co-authored the Sword software used in the treatment of apraxia of speech, and was awarded an ESRC Professorial Fellowship in 2006. I have published research articles in major international journals such as Nature Reviews Neuroscience [2], Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of USA, and Stroke.

Spare time is spent wheeling barrow-loads of manure around her garden.
Why did you choose to work in dementia?
Work in a joint neurology/speech language therapy clinic in Sheffield led to contact with individuals with diagnoses of dementia and awareness of need for earlier diagnosis and enhancement of care pathway.
