Tell us a little about yourself:
I’m a trained electrophysiologist with background in biochemistry and glia science, I did both my UG and PhD at the University of Warwick. My first postdoc project was all about long range projections between the thalamus, hippocampus [1] and cortex. My lab is currently in the process of moving from University of Exeter to University of Glasgow, which has been extended due to the pandemic.

I’m a keen salsa dancer
Why did you choose to work in dementia?
Despite my postdoc project not being involved in dementia directly, I’ve helped out in other research avenues in the lab that do indeed study dementia. I’m a strong believer in ‘’blue sky’’ research and its use for combatting diseases such Alzheimer’s or Lewy Body dementia. Understanding how the brain functions will bring us closer to being able to determine what goes wrong and thus hopefully treat and even prevent a whole range of neurodegenerative diseases!
