Tell us a little about yourself:

I was born and raised in Germany and still live there, while I am working in the Netherlands. I studied Health Sciences (Policy and Management track; MSc Health Economics, Policy and Law) and since 2012 I am working in the field of nursing science, focussing on staffing in long-term care. Together with my partner and son (15 months), I live in a small German village at the Dutch border.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself:

Once, after a weekend in Berlin, I was flying from Berlin to Düsseldorf. While waiting at the correct gate (and being on time!), I missed the airplane. I still don’t know how this could happen.

Why did you choose to work in dementia?

During my master studies, I worked as a research assistant on a project in which iPad games for people suffering from dementia were developed. Through this project, I came in contact with the nursing home setting, which I found very fascinating.
