Tell us a little about yourself:

I am 40 years old and live with my wife and two daughters (Noë and Yaëlle) in Amsterdam. In addition to science, I spend a lot of time doing and watching sports, listening to music, reading, hanging out with friends, and traveling to experience new people and cultures. I sit on the ISTAART Atypical Alzheimer’s Disease PIA. Tell us a fun fact about yourself:

I am a qualified PE teacher.

Why did you choose to work in dementia?

I am fascinated by the biology of the brain and by human behavior and have a strong drive to positively impact the lives of individuals living with a neurodegenerative disorder and their loved ones.

What single piece of advice would you give to an early career researcher?

Let your curiosity guide your research.

What book are you reading right now? Would you recommend it?

“Where the crawdads sing” [3] by Delia Owens, I highly recommend it – it’s a fascinating story.
