Tell us a little about yourself:
I received my PhD in Neuroscience from Washington University in St. Louis in 2018 under the guidance of Dr. Tim Miller and Dr. Randy Bateman. After the completion of my dissertation, I accepted a postdoctoral research fellowship at AbbVie Inc., in the Department of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics. I recently joined in the Sisodia lab in the Department of Neurobiology at the University of Chicago. My research experience spans preclinical disease models [1] as well as human observational and randomized controlled trials of neurodegenerative disease.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
I am a massive musical theatre fan, particularly anything involving Stephen Sondheim.
Why did you choose to work in dementia?
I have lost two grandparents to neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer’s Disease, Multiple Systems Atrophy), and I dream of the world where no one lives with these devastating, progressive conditions.
