Tell us a little about yourself:

I’m an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and senior Atlantic Fellow at the Global Brain Health Institute. My research is focused on the relationship between sleep and brain aging including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. I have an MPhil and PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Cambridge and Bachelor in Preventive Medicine from the Sun-Yat Sen University School of Medicine.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself:

I’m a sleep researcher who loves sleep but don’t sleep well myself.

Why did you choose to work in dementia?

It’s such a big problem in this aging society.

What single piece of advice would you give to an early career researcher?

Just keep trying.

What book are you reading right now? Would you recommend it?

“The formula”, by  Albert-László Barabási [1] and yes I would!
