Tell us a little about yourself:

I am a second-year PhD student at the University of Toronto. My research aims to co-develop an exercise video game designed to reduce falls risk among people with dementia. I live in Toronto, Canada with my partner and two cats. I enjoy painting, technology, learning, music/singing, and writing, and I sit on the ISTAART Technology and Dementia PIA. [1]

Tell us a fun fact about yourself:

I am obsessed with floral patterns.

Why did you choose to work in dementia?

My Grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease as I was growing up, and I saw how much it impacted her life. I also had an interest in and passion for technology and health [2] and exercise. I thought – what if I could combine all these interests to enable occupation and health among people with dementia and other conditions related to aging?

What single piece of advice would you give to an early career researcher?

You don’t have to know everything.

What book are you reading right now? Would you recommend it?

I’m currently working on a musculoskeletal anatomy colouring [3] book right now. I’m not much of a reader.
