I am a Research Grants Officer at the Alzheimer’s Society and I manage our portfolio of funded PhD Studentships and several our partnership grants, making sure they have everything they need to be as successful as possible. I also support the research grants application process that ensures Alzheimer’s Society funds the very best research into dementia.

My very first job was working with dolphins rescued from facilities destroyed by hurricane Katrina.

I’ve recently become a parent so the fun facts seem to have run a bit dry… I hope this is a temporary effect…
What single piece of advice would you give to an early career researcher?
Dream big, push boundaries, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. We can’t beat dementia without you.
What book are you reading right now? Would you recommend it?
I’m reading Clarissa Ward’s ‘On All Fronts: An Education of a journalist [2]’, a truly fascinating account of her life as a conflict reporter. I feel like we have become a bit numb to the horrible things we see on the news, but this memoir has reminded me of the importance of hearing those stories and staying human.
