Public Health England has updates is presentation of Dementia Statistics [1] Data relating to people with dementia, such as prevalence and diagnostics, risk factors, use of hospital services and mortality.

The dementia profile is designed to improve the availability and accessibility of information on dementia. The data is presented in an interactive tool that allows users to view and analyse it in a user-friendly format.

The profile is structured around the NHS England well pathway for dementia [2] with indicators arranged into 6 data domains:

Indicators in the dementia profile are shown at Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), strategic transformation partnerships (STPs), integrated care systems (ICSs) and local authority geographies. This data gives local commissioners and providers the information needed to benchmark current practice against other areas in England and the England level.

Please note that the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has impacted on indicators in the dementia profile that use the dementia monthly Quality Outcomes Framework and Care Quality

Commission datasets. However, indicators that use the annual Quality Outcomes Framework, Hospital Episode Statistics (Admitted Patient Care) and the Office for National Statistics mortality datasets are not impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. All indicators in the preventing well domain are not impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each year the data in the dementia profile is updated. In addition, a statistical commentary is generated that summarises the latest and trends data published in the profile.
