The ISTAART Sex and Gender Differences in Alzheimer’s Disease Professional Interest Area (PIA) is pleased to announce the launch of a new Work Group (WG), Women-Specific Alzheimer’s Disease Risk.
Women-Specific Alzheimer’s Disease Risk Work Group
Increasing research supports sex and gender contributions to Alzheimer’s Disease risk and progression. However, literature around risk is currently fragmented across topic areas (e.g., lifestyle, hormones, genetics). This WG aims to address this gap by conducting an in-depth review of the current literature and producing a manuscript that offers an expert perspective on current knowledge and key future directions in the field.
This group will be co-chaired by Drs. Jessica Caldwell, Anna Brugulat-Serrat and Shireen Sindi.
The WG’s launch meeting will take place on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 9:05 a.m. C.T.
How do I get involved?
If you work in this area of science and would like to contribute, please sign up for this work group here.
Our PIA also currently has two additional work groups: Sex Differences in NSS and Sex Differences in Sleep and AD. You can sign up for these using the same link above.
Even if you are unable to attend the initial call, please register if you are interested in receiving follow-up information and future WG invitations.
